Art, peace, yoga…..a serene backdrop for discussing life’s more profound matters.

‘Make Time to Talk’ is a health message promoted by Relationships Australia, a national community service organisation that supports individuals, couples and families who want to improve their relationships and personal wellbeing.

Arts events such as ‘Eight Paths, One Journey’ are among the opportunities to project the message to people who may want to press life’s pause button and take time to strengthen human connections.

People of all ages and types have more chance of good mental and emotional health when they feel considered and nurtured by those around them, particularly family and friends.

Making time to talk . . . to listen . . . and to learn . . . is a key to mental well-being.

Eight Paths, One Journey is proudly sponsored by Healthway promoting Relationships Australia’s Make Time to Talk message.

The City of Perth is proud to support Eight Paths, One Journey, through our Cultural Sponsorship Program, which supports lively and innovative arts and cultural activities within the City.

This unique exhibition draws inspiration from the ancient eastern practice of yoga and gives it relevance in our 21st century western world. Through the eyes of nine yoga practitioners we will have the opportunity to explore universal themes surrounding human identity, evolution and spirituality.

Eight Paths, One Journey celebrates the numerous benefits of practising yoga and the sense of well being it can bring to our lives. In this fast paced world around us, yoga provides profound mental health benefits.

The City of Perth invites our community to attend this exhibition from Friday 7 November to Sunday 30 November 2008 at the Perth Town Hall. I am sure this multidimensional arts project will give cause for thought and be an enriching experience for those who visit this exhibition.

Congratulations to Matthew Dragun and the team for all their hard work and a special thank you to the participating artists, I wish you all ongoing success.
